Christian Darwinism and Christian unity

It would seem that the Christian Darwinists are engaged in an organised and concerted attempt to undermine and isolate Christian creationists and Christian intelligent design supporters. Denis Alexander in his new book infers that such Christians are 'dangerous,' 'disgraceful' and states that they are 'embarrassing.' He has articles in Third Way magazine and Christianity magazine that makes similar points.

Part of the Christianity magazine article is online here

Denis Alexander is working with Christian Think Tank 'Theos' in order to 'Rescue Darwin' from ideology. Libby Purves comments that "...the Theos think-tank about faith has set up a project with the Faraday Institute and a grant from the Templeton Foundation, to conduct a project aimed at the Darwin anniversary."

Libby Purves - The Times blog

Purves comments "Its director [Paul Woolley] writes to me:

"Basically the idea is to 'Rescue Darwin' from the crossfire of a battle (between the creationists and public atheists) that he had little personal interest in. There's more to it than that, but the main objective will be a kind of 'plague on both your houses', arguing that both the creationists/IDers and the militant atheists are wrong, that Darwinian evolution is compatible with Christianity, and that we need to treat Darwin as a supremely gifted scientist and not the mascot (or demon) for one anti/religious cause or another"."

Are we to infer from this that establishing the 'truth' of Darwinism is more important than developing Christian unity? Many of us have long called for respectful dialogue in this area to increase understanding, but some Christians seek to exclude and divide their fellow believers. So much for John 17:23, or the 'ministry of reconciliation' that Paul asserts Christians have in 2 Corn. 5:18.

If these Christian Darwinists wish a 'plague' on their fellow believers and plan to isolate them from public dialogue, then I wonder where Christ is in their endeavours? The idea that it is possible to divide Christians in order to promote the gospel is ever so slightly misguided. Secondly the idea that Darwinism is an ideology free theory and that Darwin was purely a scientist is rather naive. I would challenge Theos and Alexander to research the history and beliefs of those who inspired Darwin; people like Adam Smith, Thomas Malthus, David Hume, Erasmus Darwin, Auguste Comte, Charles Lyell, Geoffrey Grant etc. they may be surprised by what they find in terms of economic and social theory that run along atheistic, deistic and sometimes pagan lines of thought.

NO PHYSICAL WITNESS FOR THE EVOLUTION FROM APES TO HUMAN BEINGS. DARWIN'S THEORY IS SIMPLY WILD IMAGINATION FROM COMPARING OBJECTS TO OBJECTS OR SUBSTANCE TO SUBSTANCE. UNLESS SOMEONE COULD SHOW ME THE PHOTOGRAPH TO PROVE THAT THEY DID REALLY SEE HUMAN BEINGS TO BE EVOLVED FROM APES, I WOULD THEN AFFIRM THEIR BELIEF.

Compare bear and human beings:
1) Bear could stand with its two legs. The same to human beings.
2) Bear could not swing from one tree to another. The same to human beings.
3) Bear could take care its cud. The same to human being that is able to take care of new-born baby.
From the comparison above, could one declare that human being is evolved from bear or polar bear.

Darwin supports that creatures will evolve to adapt the surrounding environment. Nowadays we have aeroplanes and rockets that have been developed into space. Why should human beings remain wingless that they could not develop their own wings to fly from one place to another? As many people have turned out to be astronauts to work in the space, why is it that our bodies could not develop further to be able to live in space outside our planet. All these prove Darwin's theory is erroneous and not practical. People that believe in Darwin certainly live in their own scopes of wild imagination.

God is the one that created Adam. The supporting verse is Genesis 1:27, "God created man in his own image".
Man was formed directly by God by means of using dust from the ground instead of transforming from ape to man. The supporting verse is: Genesis 2:7, "..the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, & breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; & man became a soul."
Woman was formed by means of using a rib from Adam: Genesis 2:21-22, "And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, & he slept: & he took one of his ribs, & closed up the flesh...And the ribs, which the Lord God had taken from made, made he a woman".
From the biblical verses above, Darwin's theory on evolution could not stand.

Dude, I wonder if you ever took the time to read the origin of species or you are just criticizing darwin because you are an evangelical religious bigot. Is this how you spend the time? give me a break. There are still plenty of good deeds to do, plenty of people to help, without having to indoctrinate them.

Re: Jonathan CHM

1) Capitalizing words does not make your argument more valid.

2) Saying human witness equals absolute truth is logically invalid. People have "witnessed" being abducted by aliens, ghosts, bigfoot, the Loch Ness monster, Buddha, the prophet Mohammed, Joseph Smith's revelations, etc. and I highly doubt you find any of those valid.

3) Your science is ridiculously juvenile. You clearly have no conception of biology. You're making rash generalizations and you have a glaring lack of knowledge on the subject.

4) The zealousness with which you argue on a blog makes it clear that you're simply a religious hack who actually thinks you're accomplishing something. The Bible and evolution are not mutually exclusive, and only one who has no comprehension for the context in which the Bible was written would make the claim that they were.

Al-Baqara, Chapter 2 Verse 21, "(mentions that) "O mankind! Worship your Lord (Allah), Who CREATEd you and those who were before you so that you may become Al-Muttaqun (the pious - See V.2:2)."

The above is the extract from Holy Quran that metnions that all human beings have been created from Allah. If human beings have been created by Allah, how could they be formed through evolution. Thus, Holy Quran supports creationism instead of evolution. If Holy Quran supports evolutionism, why should the phreae, Allah created you, be mentioned in the verse above?
